Intercultural differences in management in childcare facilities

The thesis focuses on the analysis of the management of selected organizations providing care for young children in terms of intercultural differences in the management style and principles of their managers from the majority society. The analysis is based primarily on the work of Geert Hofstede and Robert House, who revealed the sociological phenomenon of cultural dimensions. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to an analysis of the current legislative framework for the provision of early childhood education in Czech Republic and the position and role of the school or non-profit organization director as a manager. Special attention is paid to the concept of intercultural management as a specific area of people management and the basic theories of cultural dimensions of Geert Hofstede and Robert House are discussed, including the framing of the whole situation in the context of the Czech social and cultural environment. Communication with a child in children groups

This bachelor thesis deals with issues in communication with a child in children group. The theoretical part contains general information relating to pre-school institutions, communication, and conditions of formation of emotionally propitious surrounding. The practical part pursues comparison of kindergarten and children group from the point of view of communication and enquires into communication techniques appearing in these surroundings. The aim of the practical part is to discover the communication techniques which are used in children groups and kindergarten classes within effective and ineffective communication. One of the next goals is a determination of the most frequently used techniques in this environment. Questionnaires and structured observation are used there as a research method. The result of the research is a summary of answers from the questionnaire and a summary of statements from teachers and carers who were observing and communicating with children. Results of this thesis can be used as an inspiration for people working in a kindergarten or in a children group.
The Use of Roznov Art-therapeutic Methods in School Group Work

In the thesis, the candidate deals with a group of school children, focusing on the prevention of a risky behavior using Art therapeutical techniques. The thesis is kept as a case history of a school group using group work methods and techniques to strengthen relationships among the group members in order to understand the differences between the individual members and the tolerance within the group. The theoretical part deals with socio-pathological phenomena in the school group, primarily with bullying. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate whether the Art therapeutical methods are suitable for working with a group of school children. Moreover, to describe, in visual artifacts, the group dynamics, alternatively its development under the influence of Art therapy, specifically the Rožnov Art therapeutical methods.
